Originally a small fishing village, Hurghadha has
developed into a big seaside resort in the last few
years. While construction is evident everywhere,
Kurghadha is now a foremost tourist resort of the
Red Sea coast. It is an excellent place for people
interested in water sports like windsurfing,
sailing, deep-sea fishing, swimming, and especially
snorkeling and diving. The unique underwater gardens
offshore are some of the finest in the world,
justifiably famous amongst divers. The warm waters
here are ideal for many varieties of rare fish and
coral reefs, which may also be observed through
glass bottom boats.
Hurghadha is also a lovely beach resort offering all
types of hotels and spas. Many of these hotels offer
so many activities and facilities that one may never
need to leave the resort. Often, the larger resorts
have zoos, playgrounds, discos, bars, a number of
pools and even small theaters.
For the more adventurous, it is also known as a
party town when life begins at many clubs, at night.
A
30-minute drive takes you to El Gouna, a highly-organised
resort community. Together, these communities and
resort areas offer just about everything a visitor
might wish for, from raucous parties to isolated
scuba diving, with golf, bowling and fishing in
between.
At
Hurghadha we stayed at
a fabulously
luxurious resort,
The Oberoi Sahl
Hasheesh. Sprawling
over 48 acres with comfortable and private suites,
it was a fitting place to end our hectic holiday.
Go, have a look at the hotel...
